If you don’t know, I recently purchased a Polaris Slingshot and I’m renting it on TURO app. Not even 4 days posted up for rent and we have a taker! A local guy text messaged me directly, after getting my number from my listings description, asking if I have it available for the weekend. If there is anything I like most is starting a new business venture and it starting off faster and better than expected. I was super excited and nervous to rent it out but I had to do it. I didn’t expect it to rent out so fast, I was still reading all terms and conditions myself on how to rent it out safely, also add the vehicle wasn’t even registered to me yet. Still riding around on temp tags.
It turns out Turo’s insurance plans, the ones that cover my vehicle, do not cover vehicles that aren’t registered to an owner, and the great state of Florida does not have peer to peer car coverage. So, sadly I had to cancel on him 🙁 It was either cancel on him or the guy possibly takes my slingshot and never return with it and i’m stuck with the bill. Luckily, the dealer called me and told me to come by tomorrow and pick up the tag and registration. I’ll update the progress of turo and my rentals periodically. To be continues…
